VIC is a member of the Toronto and District Senior Men's Curling Association (TDSMCA), which league was founded in 1959. The Tam O'Shanter Curling Club (now the Tam Heather Venerables) was one of the founding members. This league currently consists of players from six clubs - Donalda Club, East York Curling Club, Leaside Curling Club, Richmond Hill Curling Club, Unionville Curling Club, and the Tam Heather Venerables. The season starts in October and ends in early April. Each club hosts games three times a season, with a total of 18 games played - 16 regular games and 2 "Scrambles". Both Scrambles (Christmas & Year-End) are held Tam Heather. Games are played on Fridays at all clubs except Unionville, where the games are played on Mondays. Starting times vary from 1:00pm to 1:45pm. Each club provides one team each week, which means three separate match-ups are played weekly. The Venerables currently have three teams in this league, which means each team plays every third week. Due to illnesses, conflicting schedules, etc., we are always looking for players. This is a fun league - you play on a Venerables rep team, get to curl at other clubs that you might not normally get to, and the fellowship is great. If you are interested, please refer to the Venerables Calendar for the VIC coordinators contact information.
